1. Magnetron — ৳2,200 to ৳4,500
The tube that generates the microwaves. When it weakens, food heats slowly; when it fails, not at all. This is the single most common cause of a no-heat oven.
2. High-voltage diode — ৳400 to ৳900
A cheap part that fails often. A shorted diode also makes a loud buzzing noise when the oven runs.
3. High-voltage capacitor — ৳600 to ৳1,400
Holds a lethal charge even after unplugging. Never open a microwave yourself to check this.
4. High-voltage transformer — ৳1,800 to ৳3,500
Burnt windings usually come with a distinct smell. Often fails together with the diode.
5. Door interlock switch — ৳300 to ৳800
A safety switch. If it fails, the oven may run without heating or refuse to start at all. Only correctly rated replacements are safe.
6. Control board or thermal fuse — ৳500 to ৳2,500
A blown thermal fuse kills all power; a failed control board can run the fan and turntable while never triggering the magnetron.
Why this is not a DIY repair
The HV capacitor in a microwave stores enough charge to kill hours after the oven is unplugged. Discharging it safely takes the right tool and the right procedure. Bring the oven to a workshop instead.
